Virginia Beach -- United States patent office has granted a comprehensive patent to Pancake Wheel ( www.PancakeWheel.com) on fold flat tricycles which have unique folding
attributes. Pancake Wheel has adapted its unique Pancake folding wheel axle technology on kid's tricycles, which allow the tricycles to fold to an ultra thin storage profile.
Pancake Wheel has also designed other foldable parts for the unique tricycle, along with a central frame which allows the tricycle to fold into an
ultra flat profile so that it can be carried in the trunk of any car.
Pancake Wheel has already designed the world's most compact wagons, utility carts, jogging strollers, and wheelbarrows.
"Our pivoting wheel axle technology is so far beyond other wheel axle technology, that it is natural for us to try to apply our technology to
other non-folding wheeled products," said Rick Shapiro, Pancake Wheel's designer. Children's tricycles are a fairly bulky and unwieldy little product. Pancake Wheel actually filed for patent
protection in 2001, and multiple United States patents issued off of an earlier patent application which included tricycles.
It wasn't until 2006 that the US patent office finally granted specific protections relating to the three wheeled children's tricycles.
